You may successfully loose weight when you take diet pills – but you will not become healthier. There are no health benefits for loosing weight without changing a bad diet and without beginning to exercise regularly. If anything, the diet pills contain active drugs that can cause elevated heart pressure, sleep problems, severe mood swings and more.

When you get slim by popping pills you may win a beauty contest, but your insides are not so beautiful – not at all. You become fragile and potentially ill because of serious side-effects. Therefore, if loosing weight is very important for you, (more important than your health) go ahead and pop pills, scarf down your favorite fried foods, and keep sitting on the couch.

The point I am quite clearly trying to make is that you should purchase a thirty five dollar gym membership and not a month supply of diet pills for about the same price. When you eat healthier you become healthier, but when you eat less because you are hyped up on pills, you are not healthier, and you are certainly not doing your (albeit sexy) body any favors.

Dietary Fiber Lowers Blood Pressure

You’ve heard it before, and you’ll hear it again. What you eat can affect your blood pressure. Now there’s an additional study to support this claim. Researchers at Tulane University analyzed data on almost 1,500 adults in more than two dozen studies and found that eating between about seven grams to 19 grams if fiber a day led to a reduction in both systolic and diastolic blood pressure (the top and bottom figures, respectively, in a blood pressure reading).

”We performed a comprehensive analysis of data from 25 clinical trials and all the data pointed to one strong conclusion-adding fiber to a person’s diet has a health effect on their blood pressured lead author and medical student Seamus Shelton said in a prepared statement.

Actually, nutritional guidelines recommend more fiber than what was indicated in the Tulane University study. The recommended is 20 grams to 35 grams of fiber a day.

Keep track of how much fiber you eat. Start by reading food labels. Then eat a variety of foods high in fiber, such as:

* Whole-grain breads and cereals. Six servings a day give you about 12 grams of fiber. Include wheat and oat bran cereals, whole-wheat muffins or toast, and corn tortillas in your meals.

Benefits of Stair Exercises

Stair exercises are one of the best exercises that can get you fit very quickly. If you do not have access to a gym, you can use your own body weight and do stair exercises.

Being a personal trainer, I always hear that “I can not work out because I do not have access to a gym when I go on a business trip”. That is totally nonsense. I always recommend bring a pair of your sneakers and your work out clothing.

Sometimes your hotel might have a gym, or maybe they might not have a gym for their customers to use. However, I do know that pretty much any building that has more than one floor has a flight of stairs.

Below are some of the benefits of stair exercises:

Here are two types of work outs that you can do to get fit.

Aerobic work outs—this is very simple! Just walk up a flight of stairs without holding on the handle. Walk in a comfortable pace while getting your heart rate up. If you feel that it is too easy, you can simply walk faster.

Leg strength and muscle build work outs—this is a variation of the first work out. You can simply walk 2 steps at a time. After a flight or two, you should feel that your quads and your butt burn! If this gets too easy, you can add some external weight such as a pair of dumb bells or a weight vest to increase intensity.
