Skin Care For Men

Posted by admin On December - 31 - 2006

Perfect skin – Not just for women! People have very much changed their views on how they should look in the past 50. If you look back 50 years, there was really only one style of clothing, now there are hundreds. Back 50 years ago it was really only women that fully cared about the way there face and skin looked, They wore an extremely large amount of make up to cover any kind of spot or acne.

What you look like is very important to make a first impression, in the past 50 years it was always a women’s area to be concerned about the way she looked and fully improving her skin to make her as good looking as possible so that the first impressions would be good.

Men never cared about beautician products that they may place on there face, men pretty much dominated and it was the women’s role to look good and please the man. This has now luckily changed. It is no longer a man’s world and everyone must try and look their best to feel good, look good and to eventually find someone to love.

We live in a world that is constantly judging everyone else, if you are overweight then you are judge as eating to much, if you have acne then you are judge to not be clean. This is completely untrue, just because you have acne doesn’t mean you do not clean. More men are realizing that in order to find someone to love them they do need to take care of themselves. There was a report done back in 2001 which asked women what they find more attractive, toned body or perfect clean skin. 70% of the women asked stated that they prefer a man to have clear and clean skin. A man that looks like they take care of themselves would be a good partner.

You don’t want acne to ruin your image and ruin your chances on getting a partner, this is why we fully recommend clearpores.com/clicks/clickthrough.html?a=145582″ target=”_blank ClearPores full system. A Guide To General Female Health

Posted by admin On December - 31 - 2006

A number of novels and stories of the early 18th and 19th centuries often portray women as mad and irrational beings, thus, espousing the creation of mad women literature. But, modern medicine dispels this “mad” attribute. By establishing that women’s hormones are more sensitive and susceptible to change than that of men, more attention is given to female health. Menstruation, menopause, PMS, and perimenopause – these are all part and parcel of general health topics related to women. Aside from that similarity of being part of female health, these phenomena are due to one thing: hormonal changes. Hormones are fickle, they change with the slightest variation in diets or physical activity. Sometimes even emotional upheavals are enough to make women’s hormones go haywire. Researchers on female health come up with studies on the relationship of female psycho-emotional well-being and their physical health. More often than not, hormones are the established links between this relationship.

Hormonal imbalances are the usual culprits for a number of health disorders in women. Although some of the symptoms are associated with other illnesses, their root remains to be unbalanced hormones. As varied as general health topics are, they range from physical manifestations to psychological and emotional troubles. Physical manifestations of hormonal imbalances include fatigue, weakness, weight gain, weight loss, digestive problems, hot flashes, and joint pain. Other symptoms are more pronounced and less insidious like hair loss and dry skin. Unfortunately, with the demands of career and family life, women often ignore these symptoms as merely due to excess work and overall tiredness. Some attempt to cure their symptoms with remedies and rest that do not work. Hormonal imbalances need medical attention and hormonal supplements to be treated properly. Otherwise, symptoms grow worse with heart palpitations, increased nausea, urinary dysfunction, breast pain, and vaginal dryness. Extreme cases even include changes in menstrual periods with the affected person either suffering from extended periods and bleeding or have total absence of periods.

If the symptoms and conditions above are bad enough, they are just the hormonal imbalances’ physical aspect. Usually cropping up as manifestations of other psychological disorders, the psycho-emotional aspect of these imbalances are often disruptive. There are documented cases wherein afflicted persons confess of being unable to function at their normal level because of the symptoms. Some of the minor symptoms include cravings and mood swings. However, if the symptoms do not receive treatment, they progress to worse conditions like lack of sexual desire, depression, insomnia, and unclear reasoning. It’s no wonder that general health topics and concerns about women often include well-being exercises.

But, these imbalances are not permanent afflictions. With proper diet, exercise, supplements, and counseling, women are able to get their hormones back on track. However, early detection is a key factor in treating hormonal imbalances. It is therefore important not to dismiss the symptoms as just belonging to general health topics or issues. Hormonal imbalances are not just topics — they are real, and they happen to more women everyday.

4 Minute Fat Burner – The 8 Count Bodybuilder

Posted by admin On December - 31 - 2006

As the holidays roll around we are rushing around eating to much
and not exercising enough, we are getting stressed out.

There is no reason you need to miss a workout when you learn how
to use your bodyweight effectively.

You can get a great workout in as little as 4 minutes, yes 4 minutes
and if you think this is impossible you will be in for a treat.

If you believe the fitness gurus, doctors, and fitness magazines you will
think there is no way you can get an effective workout in 4 minutes.

If these so called fitness experts tell you that there is no way to get a
great fat burning exercise in as little as 4 minutes they have not tried it,
or did their research.

These are the same workouts I used to lose over 82 lbs in 7 months,
so I know these short intense workouts are very effective.

Let me try to prove a small point, people that go to the gym and exercise,
lifting weights, walking on the treadmill, riding the exercise bikes or jogging
are getting in their exercise and according to the research this is the way to
get in shape to live a longer life.

But, when it snows and these people do a simple activity like shoveling snow
they fall over with a heart attack, how can this be.

Because we have gotten away from real physical fitness and nutrition, we
believe what ever we hear or read, without actually doing our own research.

Most people are not physically fit enough to do simple activities and that’s
where the 4 minute workout comes in.

I will give you a quick 4 minute workout that will work the whole body in only
4 minutes and the exercise is called The 8-count bodybuilder and it’s very
demanding and should not be done by anyone not healthy or physically fit.

Start in a standing position.
1. Squat down and put your hands on the ground in front of you.
2. Kick your legs back into a pushup position.
3 & 4. At the same time you kick your legs back you do a pushup.
5 & 6. Then kick your legs out to the side and then back( when you kick out you
should be in the shape of a Y)
7. Bring you legs back under you.
8. Stand up.

This is 1 repetition and you are to continue this for 4 minutes and this will soon
have you believing that in 4 minutes you can get in a great fat burning workout.

Reasons to Get A Nose Job

Posted by admin On December - 31 - 2006

Rhinoplasty is the modification of one’s nose. There are a number of reasons you might want to get a nose job.

If you are unhappy with your nose, plastic surgery is almost worth undergoing. While people are often annoyed by some part of their body, those with “nose problems” are more affected. The reason? Well, the position of the nose is critical. It is in the middle of your face, which puts it front and center in any communication situation. For people that are unhappy with the appearance of their nose, this can be problematic from a mental point of view. They can easily become self-conscious about the problem and lose self-confidence in themselves. If this describes your situation [be honest], they you should at least explore the options available to you.

For many people, nose problems did not happen at birth. Instead, childhood is the culprit. We all skateboarded, played sports or were just clumsy. For a large number of people, this meant giving our body a beating. Broken noses were common among my friends, and you might have suffered one. For some people, the damage from a broken nose can leave a hump in the nose. Plastic surgeons are well versed in the removal of such humps, since it is one of the common reasons for getting plastic surgery.

Another reason to get a nose job has to do with symmetry. Well, a lack of it. The body tends to be symmetrical. Your arms tend to be the same length. The same goes for your legs. There are, however, exceptions for this and the same goes for your nose. For some people, the tip of their nose may be “off”. One side may be slightly bigger, higher, drop or stick out more. The reasons can vary, but the cure is relatively simple. A plastic surgeon can manipulate the cartilage at the end of the nose to create symmetry.

One of the biggest complaints from people is the length of their nose. While short noses are mentioned, people with long noses that seem to overhang their lip are by far more common. Fortunately, there is a solution. It all has to do with angles. You can take any object that has a right angle to it. Now lay it on your upper lip and compare the rough angle of the end of your nose to your upper lip. Men want an angle of 90 degrees while women look better with 100 degrees. With long noses, the angle is usually smaller, mean 70 degrees or so. A plastic surgeon can perform a procedure to increase the angle by removing cartilage. This effectively shortens your nose and pulls the tip back up towards your eyes.

There are a wide variety of reasons to consider getting a nose job. Fortunately, rhinoplasty is also a field where there is a surgical solution for practically any one of them.

Energy and How to Get It

Posted by admin On December - 30 - 2006

Every minute round the clock, the human body is burning up energy. Everything we do involves the expenditure of energy – walking, running, standing, sitting. Even reading takes its toll; the brain is a large consumer of energy.

What is energy? It is ‘heat’ created in the body which charges the muscles, tissues and organs to perform their functions. That is why energy is measured by a heat unit know as the ‘calorie’.

Calories of body energy are created by nature’s wonderful compound ‘glucose’. The carbohydrates in our food are broken down by our digestive system into glucose, carried by the blood stream to various parts of the body and converted into energy.

Energy needs
Energy and glucose used to be associated with manual workers and sportsmen. It is now generally recognized that sedentary workers need almost as much energy as a factory operator. For instance a white-collar worker spends about 2800 calories of energy compared to his blue-collar counterpart who uses around 3,000. And housewives who wash, sweep, iron and make beds often expend as much if not more. Children need twice the amount of calories as adults, in proportion to their body weight.

What can a person do when he feels tired?

If his state of tiredness is chronic and is experienced even after a good night’s rest, it is likely that he is suffering from a deficiency. It merits a doctor’s advice. ‘Healthy’ tiredness following hard work for instance needs simpler action. Many people attempt to ‘cheat’ fatigue by drinking stimulants which create a false impression of freshness.

Glucose energy
The only way to dispel tiredness is to feed the body with more energy fuel. Eating a meal is one sensible way to recharge the batteries. But often an energy boost is needed between meal times. In such cases purified glucose powder in water, a drink or by itself produces quick energy. Glucose, because it is a predigested food, so to speak, does not have to go through a slow digestive break-up. It is immediately assimilated by the body. That is why glucose is know as ‘instant energy’. Diabetics however should only consume glucose under doctor’s advice.

The fact that glucose is instantly utilised is added advantageous for people who have problem tummies. Light on the digestion, glucose does not create acidity or a feeling of fullness. Still another virtue of glucose is that, unlike fats, it does not contain cholesterol the fatty residue which is believed to lead to a narrowing of the arteries and coronary aliments. Today doctors are advising a decrease in consumption of animal fats. With a reduction in this energy source, the need is often felt for added energy. Glucose is an increasingly popular answer.

Home economists base their approval of glucose on its low cost. In these days of soaring prices, glucose is being increasingly appreciated for being within easy reach of everyone’s pocket. Perhaps that is the reason why glucose is labeled ‘the energy food of the masses’.

Alcohol Detoxification

Posted by admin On December - 30 - 2006

If you love someone who is an alcoholic, or you are struggling with your own alcohol problem, you may be interested in the process of alcohol detoxification. Alcohol withdrawal symptoms can range from uncomfortable to life threatening, depending on the severity of the addiction, and detoxification can help with this process.

Alcohol detoxification is simply eliminating alcohol from the body and providing medical assistance for the symptoms of withdrawal that accompany this process. Medical professionals will generally prescribe a limited course of treatment with one of several drugs developed for this purpose. The most common is called Chlordiazepoxide. While I do not like the use of drugs in most cases, I do concede that in certain instances, such as this, they can be extremely helpful and effective in helping someone to recover from a harmful addiction.

The treatment will usually last about a week. The dosage is highest on the first day, with declining amounts on the following days. This allows the highest dosage to be used at the time when the effects of withdrawal are strongest. Close supervision by a medical professional is usually required, and the patient must agree to discontinue all alcohol use during the treatment time.

Without treatment, an alcoholic who suddenly discontinues the use of alcohol can experience mild symptoms like sweating, cravings for alcohol and trembling. More severe withdrawal symptoms can include delirium tremens, hallucinations and even convulsions in a small percentage of patients. The detoxification drugs help the body eliminate alcohol and limit these uncomfortable and sometimes dangerous symptoms.

With the use of drugs like Chlordiazepoxide, withdrawal is less dangerous and more comfortable than it would be without medicine. Most users still experience some trouble sleeping, nervousness and irritability, though.

Detoxification only addresses the physical issues of alcoholism, though, and many professional endorse a combined therapy that includes counseling or a 12 step program to follow the detoxification process. Most contend that the cravings for alcohol, both physical and psychological, will remain long after it is out of the system. Counseling and continued treatment is required to help the patient change their attitudes and resist returning to alcohol use.

In addition to counseling and support, there are several drugs that may be prescribed to help avoid a relapse and make recovery easier. Acamprosate helps reduce cravings and another drug, Disulfiram, will make the user sick if they ingest alcohol.

There is no shame in asking for assistance with an alcohol problem. Most family doctors and counselors can prescribe the detoxification treatment or make the appropriate referrals. Take advantage of the assistance available; recovering from alcoholism is an often difficult road.

Using the help available can be the difference between recovery and relapse, so ask your healthcare professional about detoxification programs today.

Cancer Patients Get Relief From Laughter Yoga

Posted by admin On December - 30 - 2006

We have had several cancer patients attend our laughter club who have cancer and are going through chemotherapy. Many don’t have much to laugh about since they are experiencing great physical and emotional pain and they were very curious about the history of laughter yoga and its benefits.

The History of Laughter Clubs

• The first Laughter Club started in March 1995 in Mumbai, India.
• It was started by Dr. Madan Kataria, a trained medical physician.
• He saw a need to have a club where people went and just laughed to obtain the medical benefits of laughter. They have now become so popular that they have grown into a worldwide movement of more than 5500 clubs throughout the world. Many of the cancer patients who attended the laughter club asked how stress could have contributed to their cancer. Many people with cancer attribute it to too much stress, but what is stress? Stress is the normal reaction of the body to an external situation which releases adrenalin. The adrenalin impacts on your emotion, which changes your perception, which impacts on your reaction. Sustained adrenalin rushes impacts negatively on your immune system and you get sick – cancer! Stress weakens your immune system to enable stress-related illnesses such as cancer, blood disorders, and depression to take hold. Stress-related illnesses are also the biggest killers in the western world. More than $300 billion was lost last year in the United States alone due to stress-related illnesses.

Did you know that?

• Laughter has 3 distinctions:

• 1. It develops a sense of humour, even if you don’t have one.
• 2. It creates a good feeling inside of you.
• 3. It trains you to laugh.

Laughter Yoga has been so successful that several hospitals has implemented a program for its cancer patients to participate in while going through chemotherapy. The patients feel better, laugh more and what used to be a negative – chemotherapy, have now been turned into a positive. It goes to show us that laughter truly is the best medicine!

Acid Reflux Symptoms – Are You Suffering Needlessly?

Posted by admin On December - 30 - 2006

Thankfully acid reflux symptoms are quite easy and straightforward to spot and you need not suffer in silence. If you have ever experienced acid reflux symptoms then you know the pain and the anguish that can be caused, especially those nighttime attacks when the symptoms seem even more severe and when insomnia is experienced it can be difficult to get through the next day.

Although acid reflux symptoms are fairly easy to diagnose but they are sometimes mistaken for a heart attack as the pain can first appear in the chest area. However if you have pain in the chest area and for some reason you believe it to be a cardiac problems you should seek immediate and medical assistance, as there is only a small window of opportunity for best help.

Acid reflux symptoms are quite common after eating spicy or rich foods. That late night curry or the dinner for two may be the very trigger that you need to avoid. Midnight snacks are certainly out from now on. If the pain that you are experiencing is due to acid reflux then you will find that the discomfort will soon subside after consuming antacid medication. The real concern is when the acid reflux pain appears more and more frequently even if you have avoided the late night meals.

When the acid reflux symptoms become regular its time to see you doctor who will probably recommend a series of simple tests to diagnose the cause of the acid reflux symptoms.

Patients with acid reflux often report suffering from nausea. In fact, nausea as a result of acid reflux is so common that when a patient experiences nausea with no apparent cause, a doctor usually suspects acid reflux as the culprit.

Acid Reflux Symptoms Could be the Sign of Something More Serious

Never ignore the symptoms expecting the pain and discomfort to just go away and leave you alone without any intervention. You should bear in mind that the signs may be an indication of something more serious that requires expert intervention: better be safe than sorry. Acid reflux symptoms often appear as a pain, or burning, in the chest and can include heartburn pain in the esophagus.

The pain is due to the stomach acids seeping, or refluxing, into the esophagus. A healthy stomach is designed to hold all its natural fluids, including the potent acids that the body produces, unlike the esophagus, the stomach has a mucus membrane lining that is, under normal circumstances, fully able to cope with anything the gut can throw at it. However, the esophagus has no such defences and will rapidly suffer the consequences of even a short acid attack.

Take heart, these acid reflux symptoms can be calmed in several ways:

Note the foods that trigger your acid reflux and avoid them

Avoid rich and spicy foods

Do not eat too late – ideally not after 8pm, giving time for digestion to take place

Elevate your head in bed

Avoid caffeine drinks – coffee and colas

Although the difficulties associated with acid reflux are uncommon, it is imperative to keep in mind that acid reflux is a condition that should be treated by your doctor. There are also a variety of effective home remedies for acid reflux. If properly handled, it is a highly treatable condition. If left unattended, you risk the possibility of causing irreparable damage to your body.

Biomedics Contact Lenses Bring Your Life Into Focus

Posted by admin On December - 29 - 2006

CooperVision’s Biomedics XC contact lenses are 1 to 2 week disposable contacts that are worn as daily lenses for up to two weeks and then discarded. The lenses are made using Biomedics’ patented PC technology, from a unique material containing molecules of phosphorylcholine, which is found naturally in human cell membranes, and they have water content of 60 percent.

Biomedics XC is part of CooperVision’s PC Hydrogels family of contact lenses, a special category of lens material designed for daily wear that offers excellent health and optimum comfort. Hydrogels fit a wide range of patient prescriptions. All contact lenses in the PC Hydrogel category go beyond the minimum acceptable oxygen necessary for safe daily wear.

Biomedics Premier

A study conducted by Pete Kollbaum, OD, FAAO and Arthur Bradley, PhD, has shown that Biomedics Premier aspheric lenses effectively control spherical aberrations, a problem that commonly occurs after laser eye surgery.

Spherical aberration is a problem caused when light refracts, or bends, at different angles as it shines through both the contact lenses and your eyes. Those light rays are then unable to focus on the back of your eyes. The Biomedics 55 soft Premier contact lenses are the first disposable lenses to help direct the light rays to their correct position at the back of your eyes.

CooperVision/Ocular Sciences Biomedics 55 Premier gives you clear, comfortable sight, using an aspheric design to provide you with the best vision possible. You only wear them for two weeks, so you avoid the buildup of pollutants that can irritate your eyesight and cloud your vision. The lenses are infused with a light tint, making them easy to locate in cleaning solution.

Biomedics Toric

The need for effective toric contact lens correction is vital, with statistics stating that more than 50 million Americans have clinically significant astigmatism. Biomedics Toric is made of ocufilcon D and is designed for 2-week planned replacement. It also has a spherical counterpart for use in case the patient is spherical in one eye.

Biomedics Colors

In April 2002 what was then Ocular Sciences Inc. (a recent acquisition of CooperVision) announced the introduction of Biomedics Colors, a cosmetic contact lens available in four opaque colors that offers beautiful and natural color enhancement matching the eye’s innate appearance, while continuing to provide the clinically proven performance of Biomedics 55. These lenses make use of proprietary technology that incorporates four patterns of color on each lens, resulting in a natural look that closely replicates the numerous patterns and hues within the human iris.

Of course, with the various types of contacts available, the most important thing to keep in mind is to follow your doctor’s orders on which kind is required for your eyes. If you’re interested in Biomedics contact lenses, check with your doctor and he/she can prescribe the type that’s best for you.

Mike Long writes about contact lenses at contacts-netguide.com Contacts-Netguide.com and is currently writing about the new contacts-netguide.com/toric/index.html Hydrasoft Toric 1 Contact and how this may effect wearers of prescription-based lenses.

Hi, This Is Your Old Friend Mr. Nicotine

Posted by admin On December - 29 - 2006

Who am I? I’m your best friend when the going gets tough and I’m your worst enemy if you ever try to let me go. I’m also an ingenious drug that has the power to create a chemical change in your body within ten seconds and give you a false yet intoxicating sense of wellbeing.

You see the truth: I tricked you when we first met, you were bored and looking to fit in with your friends, and I was looking for a new customer. Even though on some level you knew it was a stupid you let it happen, you fell for me after just one puff.

After that you were mine!

Now I’ve been hearing a few disturbing things about you from some of your friends… about how you want to end it with me.

Well I’ve got news for you. You may be ready to let me go, but I’m not ready to end this relationship and you know why? It’s because I know you need me and you can’t live without me.

We both know it’s true, it doesn’t matter how many disturbing ads you see on TV or what statistics get paraded by the media every year, you won’t leave me; you don’t have the willpower, guts or determination to get away from me, because we both know that I’m the one with power.

I control you, I control your mind, your thoughts and your body and there isn’t anything you can do about it.

And we both know that as long as you can afford me and you don’t get a life-threatening illness you’ll keep puffing away and keep everyone happy.

Right?
